Join pianist Pamela Hines and her special guests for an hour-long broadcast from WICN's Performance Studio. She'll highlight many of New England's finest jazz musicians as well as major national talent. The show airs at 2pm on the last Wednesday of each month.
This month's show is on Wednesday, August 26th at 2pm and our guests are Shepley Metcalf and Ron Roy.
Lauded by The Boston Globe as the "superb cabaret/jazz singer and her ace piano accompanist," Shepley Metcalf and Ron Roy have performed in New York City (Metropolitan Room) and around New England (Scullers Jazz Club, Wellfleet Preservation Hall, Acton Jazz Cafe) for the past eight years. On this special show the duo will perform forgotten but fantastic songs from the 1930s to '50s, along with traveling tunes and city songs from their new show "Going Places." You can catch "Going Places," featuring music by songwriters as diverse as Cole Porter, Joni Mitchell, Stephen Sondheim, and Tracy Chapman, on September 19th at Amazing Things Art Center in Framingham.
WICN brings you a special edition of Live Jazz New England on Wednesday, September 9th at Noon featuring one of the most in-demand pianists, Glenn Zaleski with Dezron Douglas on bass and Craig Weinrib on drums.
