The Sherborn Inn's new music luncheon program for seniors that will include a complete 3-course lunch and outstanding music by prominent musicians from Boston and beyond. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30am. Music will be from noon until 2pm.

Blues pianist David Maxwell is a 2008, 2009 and now 2010 WC Handy Blues Award nominee for "Pinetop Perkins Piano Player" and a 2008 and 2009 Boston Music Award Winner. He has has amassed an enormous resume throughout the years playing piano with some of the greatest and well- known musicians in the blues.

Traditional Music and Dance of the Cape Verde Islands featuring Ederlindo & Maria Tavares

Ederlindo Tavares - Ederlindo Tavares was born on Cabo Verde Island and came to the US bringing with him the ferinho or metal rasp and the musical traditions which he inherited from his family. An accomplished percussionist whose repertoire includes the traditional Cape Verde Funana, Batuku, Tabanka, Morna and Coladera.

Maria Tavares - Veteran Afro-Cape Verdean dance instructor, Maria Tavares, has been dancing, strongly rooted in her West African/Cape Verdean heritage for her entire life. In Cape Verde she performed with various groups, and through this contact with the music, Maria became very aware of her African-Cape Verdean origins and cultural connections. In New England she has performed with RhumbAfrica and many other African artists.

This is a short set. Eventually Wednesday nights will be booked with local and touring musicians as part of an attempt to have a midweek musical oasis. Notrio will prepare the room and then deliberate music will begin. Our room preparation procedure has been in development for the last five years. We feel ready to ready the room for anyone.
