This will be a great opportunity to experience what The Buttonwood Tree has to offer as well as our very own local arts community! Everyone is welcome to stick around after the networking hour for the official opening of the art exhibit at 6:45. The show will begin at 7:30pm

The early jazz set is your best chance to be up-close and personal with some of the best jazz musicians in the world. The vibe is laid back and mellow but the playing is always exciting. Get your table close to the stage!

A modern approach to jazz standards!

A musician since the age of seven, Duane D'Agnese nurtured his muse in several bands and nearly landed a major recording contract. After a break from music to concentrate on family, Duane returned to the fold as a solist. He has toured extensively as a singer songwriter and released 4 CDs to date. His tunes are well crafted stories about his life and everything that influences it.

Doc Rogers is a NH Folksinger/Guitarist favoring the country and blues influenced acoustic folk music of the 60's and 70's and contemporary fingerstyle acoustic musician. A performer since the 70's, he has played in duos and bands in Colorado, where he lived for a time, and NH. Now he's playing mostly as a soloist, pickin' out the blues, ragtime, and folk rock tunes of the Great Folk Scare and enjoying the time machine that pickin' these tunes provides.

The show will feature many of Doug's compositions which are largely inspired by Latin and middle-eastern folk music and placed in a contemporary jazz context. The band will also perform arrangements of a few favorite standards. The group's repertoire and sound balances sections of intricate melody and counterpoint with extended moments of improvisation. http://www.myspace.com/dougpet

Karibu, the stunning major label debut from guitarist and vocalist Lionel Loueke, takes its title from a Swahili word meaning “welcome.” It’s a fitting name, as the opening title track invites the listener into the musical world of one of the most distinctive new voices in Jazz. Featuring Loueke’s long-standing trio of bassist Massimo Biolcati and drummer Ferenc Nemeth, Karibu is also graced by rare guest appearances by two legends: pianist Herbie Hancock and saxophonist Wayne Shorter. www.lionelloueke.com

5Arts2010 includes a melding of 5 art forms into three evenings of entertainment. Take one red-hot horn section - we're talkin' alto, tenor, baritone saxes and trombone - down and dirty. Add liberal amounts of barrelhouse boogie-woogie piano and stinging Fender guitar. Pour over a funky and swinging rhythm section that Blues Review magazine called "the best in the business", and top it all off with a crazy and charismatic front man with one of the biggest blues voices around. After meeting with the African-European Jazz Orchestra and opening for Senegalese legend Youssou N'Dour, Ablaye Cissoko and Volker Goetze the Senegalese singer/kora player and German-born trumpeter discovered they had much in common. Their commonalities can be heard on their cd Sira. Their song “Manssani Cisse” off the album was just nominated for Best World Traditional Song in the 2010 Independent Music Awards.
