Over the last few years, Carlin has received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 15th Annual American Comedy Awards and was voted #2 on Comedy Central’s list of the 100 greatest standups of all time, just behind Richard Pryor. Carlin still manages to perform 90 concerts each year around the country, selling nearly a quarter of a million tickets.
Carlin’s latest HBO stand up special, It’s Bad for Ya, aired live on March 1, 2008 in Santa Rosa, CA at the Wells Fargo Center For The Arts. Some of the themes that appeared in this HBO special included “Death,” “Old Age,” and “Child Rearing.” Carlin had been working the new material for this HBO special for several months prior in performances all over the country.

A professor at The Berklee College of Music, Greg Hopkins has toured nationally and internationally, appearing at the Newport, Monterey, and other major jazz festivals. Hopkins has also performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Joe Williams, Tony Bennett, the Supremes, Burt Bacharach, Nancy Wilson, Lou Rawls, Mitzi Gaynor, Michel Legrand, Johnny Mathis, Shirley Maclaine, Marvin Hamlisch, and Lena Horn, as well as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, and the Boston Brass Ensemble.
