Kasim Sulton - Electric Farm (acoustic rock)

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 - 8:30pm

There aren’t many singer / songwriters who have enough material to release a two CD 36 track album just as there aren’t many musicians who have played with Todd Rundgren, Meat Loaf, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, Blue Oyster Cult, The New Cars, Hall &Oates and Mick Jagger in their careers! Staten Island based Kasim Sulton fills both these criteria and excels at his acoustic gigs whether it is just him and a guitar or with a couple of other musicians. With 30+ years in the music business Kasim’s banter on stage is always enthralling, witty and from his heart.

Imagine a trail that traverses the likes of Nick Drake, Ray Davies, and Neil Young by way of Bright Eyes and Elliott Smith and you'll get an inkling of the irresistible sound of The Electric Farm. The newest self-titled release, THE ELECTRIC FARM, is a lush collection of original compositions that takes soft pop into a folksy space rock milieu. The album delivers a a broad spectrum of sounds, including string arrangements (by co-producer Mike Frank) that punctuate the moody atmosphere-for a style reminiscent of Beck's Sea Changes.
