34th Annual Multiband Pops: A fast-paced showcase of talent

Friday, October 17, 2008 - 8:00pm

Fine Arts Center Concert Hall

The Minuteman Marching Band heads the line-up of thirteen jazz, percussion, choral, wind and dance ensembles that will be showcased at the 34th Annual Multiband Pops at the .  Different from other concerts, Multiband Pops is a fast-paced extravaganza which leaves the audience little time for applause. The last note of a performance by one ensemble is seamlessly followed by the first note of the piece by the next ensemble.

In addition, Professor Jeffrey W. Holmes, producer of the event, keeps the audience guessing as to where in the Concert Hall the next ensemble will perform. Music will be coming from the stage, the pit, the aisles, the back of the Hall and the balconies.

Tickets to the 8pm concert are $15 for senior citizens, children under 18 years of age, and UMass and other college students, and $20 for the general public. Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Center Box Office, 413-545-2511.
