The Lily Pad's 2nd annual PIANO Festival, curated by resident piano man Gill Aharon, has now expanded into two full weekends.Officially declared as an annual showcase, the PIANO Festival will shine a 6-day spotlight on a wide variety of local piano talents and styles.

At the turn of the century on Prince Edward Island, Matthew Cuthbert and his sister Marilla decide to take on an orphan boy as farm help. But they're mistakenly sent a girl instead: Anne Shirley, a dreamer with an unusual point of view. Anne charms her new community with her fiery spirit and imagination and her new guardians discover that their lives have become a great deal richer now that Anne is at Green Gables. Sylvia Ashby's adaptation based on the classic novel by L.M. Montgomery. Directed by Laura Steele.

Hammond Performing Arts Series

Cornetist/composer Taylor Ho Bynum and his improvising chamber jazz ensemble, Taylor Ho Bynum & SpiderMonkey Strings, will present the Boston premiere of his innovative secular oratorio, Madeleine Dreams.

Every Sunday at 4:30 we host one of the longest running open blues jams in the Boston area with guitarist MIKE WELCH, and the HOODOO MEN acting as MCs- it's open to all ages (under 18 with a parent)- come on in, sign up, and let us hear your stuff!!

The 2008-09 Sovereign Bank Music Series continues with Daniel Lanois, the 10-time Grammy-winning and five-time Juno Award-winning producer and recording artist who has worked with U2, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris, and others.

The concert – which kicks-off Lanois' three-day residency Berklee (and also features master drummer Brian Blade) – will take place Sunday, November 16, at 7:30 p.m.

An artist-in-residence in Berklee's Music Technology Division, November 16-18, Lanois will record a student band that includes Blade sitting in on drums. He and Blade will also give a clinic on playing guitar and drums within ensemble and recording contexts.

Live Out Loud! features contemporary Broadway and Cabaret music written by Stephen Sondheim, Kander and Ebb, Elton John, Andrew Lippa, William Finn, and more – all of whom are out and proud members of the GLBT community. Backed by Tom LaMark on piano, the show was directed by IRNE Award winner Ida Zecco.

These performances will include a special appearance by the self-proclaimed first lady of Providence, Miss Kitty Litter.

A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit AIDS Care Ocean State www.aidscareos.org.
