In impoverished Baghdad under Saddam's dictatorship, 16-year-old Amal hopes to regain her social status at school

Jazz comes ALIVE at NEC with performances by our talented jazz superstars in the making. The Keller Jazz Series, coached by seasoned performers of the NEC jazz faculty, offers an intimate environment in which students explore their own individually crafted repertoires. Nightclub-style sets by three student ensembles from NEC's jazz studies department.

The Fitchburg State College choral groups will be adding some special guests to their annual winter concert in December.

The concert will be held in the Kent Recital Hall of the Conlon Building, 367 North St. Admission is free and parking is available in the lower Weston lot across the street.

Joining the Fitchburg State Concert Choir and the Chamber Singers will be local musician Wil Darcangelo, guest tenor and alumna Sonya Spongberg, mezzo-soprano soloist.

Darcangelo will also have solo performances of two of his own compositions. The concert will be conducted by Marjorie Ness, director of choral arts at Fitchburg State.

Folk music isn't always about sitting there quietly listening to someone else perform – it's also about active participation. So BCMFest offers an evening for people who like to sing along. And who better to sing along with than Robbie O'Connell, one of the most popular Irish entertainers of our day? Joining Robbie will be Kate Chadbourne, Michael O'Leary, and Sean Smith.
