Israeli-born, Boston-based guitarist Issi Rozen has emerged as a leading performer on the Boston jazz scene, creating a unique musical style by blending Middle Eastern and Latin motifs with post bop and straight ahead jazz. Rozen has created an infectious sound that is dynamic, passionate and seemingly effortless. He has a natural sense for melody and an awesome ability to make his guitar sing. His unique blend of styles has earned The Issi Rozen Quartet rave reviews from jazz critics and audiences nationwide.

Pianist Gilad Barkan's music forms a bridge between cultures. His compositions are poignant and enchanting, harmonically sophisticated yet accessible, linking his love for popular musics from around the world - notably Africa, Brazil, and his Israeli homeland - with a joyous rhythmic and melodic freedom as an improviser, and a distinctly warm and lyrical sound.

This event includes a 30-piece Concert Band plus the 16-piece Jazz Band and a selection of marches, band classics, swing, bop and Latin music. The bands will play songs by Edvard Grieg, James Swearingen, John Philip Sousa, Lennie Niehaus, Victor Lopez, Oliver Nelson, Neal Hefti, and Kenny Dorham.

Steve, although based in New England, has performed his music all over the country. He has worked and shared the stage with many noted performers from Tom Rush and Jamie Brockett to Jerry Garcia, Peter Rowan, Dave Bromburg, Juice Newton and Lacy J. Daltron. His songs are stories, sometimes serious, at times humorous but each with Steve's unique style and craftsmanship.
Come on down and share a song, a poem or play something for the always attentive and willing audience. Come and sign up beginning at 7:30pm. Bring your friends. Dinner is served 5-9pm.

Ten artists from eight countries find a "universal voice" Berklee's student run label Jazz Revelation Records will celebrate the release of its new album, Common Ground. The concert will feature six of Jazz Revelation's most exciting student bands, including Alejandro Carrasco, Pat Carroll, Yuki Ito, Jani Moder, Manami Morita, and Carmen Spada.
