Stan McDonald's Blue Horizon Jazz Band

Unlike many "Dixieland" bands, the Blue Horizon blends the unaffected spontaneity of early New Orleans jazz with a variety of tightly arranged passages and solos spanning the classic periods of American traditional jazz music to early swing.

Band members: Stan McDonald, soprano sax and clarinet, Jeff Stout trumpet, Gerry Gagnon trombone, Ross Petot piano, Al Ehrenfreid string bass, Dave Bragdon drums – whose ages span five decades – dig to the roots of jazz and present a varied and succulent musical repast, fulfilling their motto: The Future of the Music with a Past. Annie and the Beekeepers is a folk and country inspired trio that met at Berklee College of Music in December 2006.
