Friday, February 19, 2010 - 7:00pm

Lindsay Mac has a cello technique unlike no other. She started adapting her method while living in a wood-heated New Hampshire cabin. Though she had decided that her dream was to be a singer/songwriter, she remained committed to the cello as her instrument. “I just wanted to take my love for the cello and put it into a context in which I felt I was really in touch with my muse.” http://www.lindsaymac.com/home/home.html

Amazing Theatre Presents: Nunsense A-MEN

Think of Dan Goggin's all male ''Nunsense A-Men'' as "Mrs. Doubtfire enters the Convent." Done totally straight, this laugh riot of a musical is, to quote one critic, "no drag." First performed in Brazil as "Novicas Rebeldes," this all-male version of "Nunsense" premiered in New York in 1998 receiving rave reviews and standing ovations. A whole new layer of comedy surfaces with lines like "The guys in the old neighborhood still can't believe I became a nun!" To quote the New York Times: "A change of habit, boy oh, boy!"

Don't miss this hysterically funny, slightly irreverent, toe -tappin' production with a team and cast filled with local IRNE and EMACT winners and nominees!

Double Bill! Abi Tapia & Jen Lowe

Friday, February 19, 2010 - 8:00pm

Abi migrated to Austin, Texas in 2002, where she quickly rooted herself in the city’s thriving live music scene. With its blend of country sincerity, cosmopolitan snap and plethora of skilled pickers, she continued maturing and developing her own style. Along the way she picked up awards and recognition for her songwriting from The Wildflower Music Festival, Austin Songwriters Group and the Kerrville Folk Festival.www.abitapia.com

Having toured with prestigious national and international artists, Jen Lowe is a journey-woman through and through. The songs on her debut solo CD, “From the End of this Hallway”, play like bittersweet battle-cries of a great victory won against fallen relationships and personal struggles in a coming-of-age war. And when the dust settles, there’s the lone voice of Jen’s soul, swaying gently, beautifully, between each song like a feather dropping from the heavens between the limbs of Oak trees. She is a true natural performer, whether she’s pounding ferociously on a djembe or gently finger-picking her old guitar; as a multi-instrumentalist, Jen’s shows are spontaneous, fun and never predictable.

JOHNNY A (Blues/Jazz)

Friday, February 19, 2010 - 8:00pm

Johnny A grew up listening to Clapton and Hendrix, but the Boston bluesman really came of age as a member of J. Geils Band front man Peter Wolf's Houseparty 5. Everything he learned has been incorporated into his now elegant style: a potent blend of rock, jazz and blues tied together by a sweet tone and a constant emphasis on melody. Jazz Times claims Johnny A’s guitar "…creates dense musical shadings, conveying nostalgia, regret, hope and intrigue...” www.johnnya.com
