Paul Geremia (Folk/Blues/Jazz)

Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - 7:30pm

Geremia has built a reputation as a first rate bluesman, songwriter, a "scholar" of early jazz and blues, and one of the best country blues fingerpickers ever with his tools - six and twelve-string guitars, harmonica, piano and a husky soulful voice - and with an innate sense of the humour as well as the drama of the music, he keeps traditional blues fresh and alive with his performances.

Cirkestra & Over A Cardboard Sea

Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - 8:00pm

Starting as a circus pit band that stuck together Cirkestra is led by former circus clown turned composer/accordionists, Peter Bufano. Sound familiar? Perhaps you’ve heard them. Their eclectic tango/eastern european/jazz influenced instrumentals are in movies and television shows around the world. The members of the group are tapped from the greatest circuses in the united states. The band members have performed under the bigtop for thousands across the country in Ringling Brothers, Big Apple Circus, Circus Smirkus, Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, and Kinoshita Cirkus of Japan. http://cirkestra.com/

Over A Cardboard Sea - Comic songs, novelty tunes, and tear-jerkers from the era of wax cylinder recording come to life when this ukulele-led line-up takes the stage! It’s a wow! It’s gigantic! It’s a real humdinger! Four-part harmonies and bad jokes make this group of ragtime rascals a must-see! http://www.myspace.com/sailingoveracardboardsea

Bruce Bartlett Trio

Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - 8:30pm

The streets are paved with guitar players in this age-old town. You can see them as you walk around -- their tuning pegs and whammy bars sticking up through the pavement, their hands frozen in the shape of a Jimmy Page lick. The ones left standing tend to be pretty good. And then there's Bruce Bartlett. It's no exaggeration to say that Bruce is a pillar of jazz-funk-blues guitar culture in this intensely jazzy, funky, bluesy place.
