Beehive Mardi Gras with Samirah Evans and The Hurricane Horns

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 6:30pm

'Laissez les bons temps rouler!' is a Cajun expression meaning 'Let the good times roll!' It strongly conveys the 'joie de vivre' ('joy of living') attitude of The Beehive’s 3rd annual Mardi Gras celebration being held on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010. The South End hot spot has spared no expense in making this year’s festivities as authentic as possible. Diners and party go’er’s can look forward to the groovin’ gumbo sounds of the Samirah Evans Band and The Hurricane Horns, that will be sure to keep the crowd singing and swinging all night long.

Come for dinner, come for the music and cocktails…come to see what “New Orleans Style” is all about! There is no cover charge for this event. Regular menu served in addition to all special items. Reservations recommended.

Jeremy Pelt

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - 7:30pm

This is a CD Release Show for Jeremy Pelt’s new CD, Men of Honor. All About Jazz’s Joel Roberts says, “The title of firebrand trumpeter Jeremy Pelt's latest CD refers to the members of his quintet, who, like their leader here, are among the foremost 30- something neobop players in jazz today. The album is a follow up to Pelt's acclaimed 2008 effort November, which marked the all-acoustic quintet's debut and came on the heels of a couple of releases that explored a sort of early-'70s electric Miles vibe.”

Playing in nearly every possible type of band from jazz, to rock, R&B, and show music for the past 30 years has given Boston area bass player Mark Snyder a pretty broad spectrum of musical experience to choose from. He draws from all of that with his band The Mark Snyder Quartet, a groovy combo of rocking guitars, drums, sax, and flute that digs deep into old standards, modern jazz classics, and funky originals..." - The Boston Globe
