Worcester Regional Flight Academy, established in May 2010, is a family-owned and -operated Part 61 flight school located at the Worcester Regional Airport. The Allen family, which owns and operates the school, is strongly committed to bringing general aviation and Worcester’s airport into a more positive light by making a presence within the city and the surrounding communities.
To achieve this, the Academy supports and works closely with local businesses, news media and community organizations, colleges and universities, and technical/vocational high schools, to create a web of mutually beneficial partnerships. The Allen family is particularly interested in helping young adults to discover and explore various aviation careers through the Flight Academy’s Youth Programs, and to assist them in cultivating their interests and realizing their potential by making aviation as affordable as possible.
In an all-new episode, Steve D'Agostino interviews George Charles Allen, founding director, vice president and chief financial officer of Worcester Regional Flight Academy. He has been living and breathing aviation since he was a toddler, experiencing his first flight in a Cessna 150 at Robertson Airport in Connecticut, at the age of three. He began logging lessons when he was six. He’s also a teacher, published author, classical pianist and independent scholar.

Worcester Flight Academy
Sun, 12/02/2012 - 5:45pm — JThe Worcester Regional Flight Academy is an amazing school in Worcester and the Allen family has done an excellent job creating it. There is so much going on up there from people getting their pilots licenses to children developing an appreciation for STEM related subjects. Worcester is the home of the rocket and this small business is testament top that history being alive and well in our community. More people should know about the Worcester Regional Flight Academy.
Thanks for your comment
Wed, 12/05/2012 - 5:27pm — internI hope you enjoy my interview with George. I was quite impressed by him.
I can't wait to resume flying lessons there. Several years ago, I took lesson at Amity Flight School. The instruction was top-notch. During the winter months, though, the classroom was ice-cold. Thankfully, my wife had given me a heavy leather flight jacket as a Christmas gift. It came in quite handy. Brrrr!
Best wishes and keep listening!
Steve
