Live Jazz New England

WICN introduces a new monthly live program, Live Jazz New England.

Join pianist Pamela Hines and her special guest musician or band for an hour-long broadcast from WICN's Performance Studio. She'll highlight many of New England's finest jazz musicians as well as major national talent. The show airs at 2pm on the last Wednesday of each month.

Jazz Trane is the guest on May 29th at 2pm.

Jazz Trane is a quartet of high school students: Gretchen Herdrich, flute; Peter Hodskins, piano; Victor Pacek, double bass; and Sam Palermo, drums.  They are directed by Jerry Sabatini.  This is the advanced jazz ensemble at JOMP – you'll love them!

Past Guests:

April 24 - Dan Gabel

March 27 - Jim Porcella

February 27 - Jeff Galindo

January 30 - Dick Odgren

November 28 - Jerry Sabatini

October 31 - Grace Kelly

This is a great idea! There is so much great music in and around New England, so glad that this show will highlight it!

Pianist Pamela Hines and singer Dale LePage would be amazing. I love them both

A jazz star in her own right, Pamela Hines is to be lauded for her willingness to highlight other jazz performers, particularly local talent. This could be a showcase for local newcomers to gain some exposure. Just some food for thought.
