Jazz Composers Alliance Orchestra

Event Date:
Saturday, December 1, 2012 - 8:00pm

A program of new creative music featuring compositions for the 19-piece JCA Orchestra by resident composers David Harris, Jim Hobbs, Darrell Katz, Bob Pilkington, Warren Senders and Norm Zocher.

The concert will premiere Katz’s second bicycle work, Why Do You Ride, a setting of a Zen story about a Zen master and his five bicycle riding students (it,of course, is a blues), and Conduction 1- Three and More, by David Harris, which he says is “my first fully conduction performance, no written music” as well as new pieces by Hobbs and Zocher.

Tickets are $12, and $8 for seniors and students.
