Saul Conrad & Friends

Event Date:
Thursday, February 14, 2013 - 10:00pm

10p: Kevin Haugh; 10:30p: Mike Greenstein; 11p: Katie Schecter

11:30p Saul Conrad (w/ Katie Schecter)

Singer songwriter Saul Conrad recently co-released his debut album Poison Packets with Cavity Search Records and Mountain of Leopards Records. The album is a collage of country and folk songs that “convey such an expert sense of loneliness, it could’ve only been cultivated out of first-hand experience,” says M.T. Richards in the East Bay Express. The 24-year-old Conrad writes in a unique idiom, melding vivid poetry with long rolling melodies. His lyrics are deeply textural and symbolic and are laid tenderly over complex arrangements. James Reed in the Boston Globe insists that “the album compels you to hear it again.” Conrad will be accompanied by Katie Schecter, also 24, who will be releasing her first solo album with Mountain of Leopards in February.
