New Music Now series: The Return of Sound Icon

Event Date:
Friday, February 22, 2013 - 7:30pm

The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA) continues its adventurous New Music Now series with the return of Sound Icon, a chamber orchestra led by conductor Jeffrey Means, in the Barbara Lee Family Foundation Theater.

After exploding onto the ICA stage last season with their critically acclaimed performance of Georg Friederich Haas’ In vain, Boston-based contemporary music group Sound Icon returns with a program of sonic audaciousness. Performing works by two of Italy’s most-renowned composers, the sinfonietta-sized ensemble will dive into the sounds of altered states of mind: religious ecstasy and psychedelia.

General admission tickets are $20, $10 for members and students, and can be purchased at or by calling 617-478-3103.
