Seung-Hee Quintet

Event Date:
Wednesday, March 27, 2013 - 9:00pm

Seung-Hee is a bold, adventurous artist who sings in Korean, English, Portuguese and contributes very distinctive vocalizing on the new recording, Sketches On the Sky.

Seung-Hee Quintet will feature original compositions and lyrics she wrote to Charlie Haden and Bill Evans' music, staking her claim on these artists' compositions. She illuminates two lesser-known songs by Sting and Stevie Wonder, in addition to taking on Brazilian composers Edu Lobo/Torquato Neto and closing with a poignant version of the Korean children’s song, “By the Sea.” Artist John McNeil co-produced the project.

Seung-Hee will be collaborating with internationally acclaimed Boston and New York artists, Tim Ray on the piano, Jamie Stewardson on the guitar, John Lockwood on the bass, George Schuller on the drums.

Tickets: $10pp
