Sirius Quartet (NYC)

Event Date:
Saturday, September 7, 2013 - 8:00pm

The wildly adventurous Sirius Quartet will be bringing their explosive mix of composed and improvised sound back to the Lily Pad .

Forsaking the traditional model of the string quartet playing the music of other composers, Sirius Quartet will be playing their own compositions, which blur genre lines and include everything from minimalist polyrhythmic metal to lush post-classical melodies to explosive free jazz freakouts.

The group made it’s Boston debut in January with pianist Uri Caine, and have recently collaborated with the likes of Billy Martin (Medeski Martin and Wood), John Escreet (Antonio Sanchez) and accordionist Peter Stan (Slavic Soul Party).
