Discover the Jazz Innovators of Tomorrow with "In the Mix"

Discover the jazz innovators of tomorrow with In the Mix, 35 free 1-hour concerts over 12 evenings, Thursday, March 27 - Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at New England Conservatory's Pierce Hall on the first floor of NEC's St. Botolph Building, 241 St. Botolph Street, Boston.

These concerts, featuring NEC's Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation Ensembles, take place at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. each evening and are free and open to the public. Go to or call 617-585-1260 for more details.

Each ensemble meets weekly and is coached by a member of NEC's renowned faculty; ensembles are listed below by name of the coach.

Monday, March 31

7 p.m.        
John McNeil Ensemble

8 p.m.           
Frank Carlberg Monday Ensemble
Wonmi Jung, voice; Travis Bliss, saxophone; Eric Stilwell, trombone; Micah Stevens, guitar;
Liam Birkerts, bass; Russell Holzman, drums.

9 p.m.           
Frank Carlberg Tuesday Ensemble
Corinne Cahill, voice; David Adewumi, trumpet; Sarah Hughes, saxophone;
Thomas Chalmers, trombone; Jose Soto, piano; Vaughn Stoffey, guitar; Isaac Levien, bass;
Ryan Sands, drums.
