Boston-based percussionist Bertram Lehmann joins forces with visiting German pianist Wolfgang Torkler for the debut of their first duo-project entitled “RAUMexpanded”, as well as an introspective trio encounter featuring multi- instrumentalist Mehmet Sanlikol from Turkey.  Lehmann and Torkler will present an original repertoire of musical miniatures and meditative sonic explorations traversing the aesthetic realms of jazz, modern classical, and non-western genres. Pianist Mehmet Sanlikol now teaches at Emerson College and Brown University, as well as serving as president of DŰNYA, a unique Boston-based organization dedicated to contemporary presentations of Turkish traditions. It so far has released six CD recordings that also include a 35-member ensemble featured on A Story of the City: Constantinople-Istanbul, commissioned 2010 by the city of Istanbul commemorating its year-long European Culture Capital activities.
