The Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) featuring Marco Pignataro Presents the "Princeton Project"
The Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) is a performance program designed to foster creativity and musicianship through various musical disciplines, with pianist and composer Danilo Pérez as its artistic director. The BGJI provides a comprehensive contemporary music environment where students are given opportunities to explore their creativity to the highest level possible, advance the power of music as a tool for the betterment of society, and connect musical creative thinking with the natural environment.
Marco Pignataro is a multi-talented saxophone player, composer and educator from Bologna, Italy Marco maintains a very active international schedule of concerts, recordings and clinics and he has shared stages with artists such as Eddie Gomez, JoAnne Brakeen, Danilo Pérez, Billy Hart, Jon Faddis, John Patitucci, Ben Street and George Garzone, amongst many others.
Together with Danilo Perez, Marco currently leads the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), the premiere jazz center of musical creativity at Berklee College of Music in Boston. His latest CD, Sofia's Heart, was produced by jazz legend Eddie Gomez and recorded with a stellar group including Gomez and Billy Drummond. Also a member of the Eddie Gomez Quintet, Marco's compositions and playing is featured in the quintet recently released CD Per Sempre for BFM Jazz.
