Billy Hart Quartet with Mark Turner, Ethan Iverson, and Ben Street
This intergenerational quartet has been performing since 2003. The leader and elder, Billy Hart, has performed with almost every significant jazz musician of the last 45 years regardless of style. He is only about 500 records. Mark Turner are Ben Street are avatars of the the generation of that came of age in the late 1990's, and Ethan Iverson is best known as one-third of the game-changing collective The Bad Plus.
Last year, ECM released All Our Reasons to rave reviews, including a major profile in Time Out New York, where Hank Shteamer wrote, "an honest-to-God working band, a steady-personnel vehicle of the sort that once prevailed in jazz but is now the exception."
