Feb. 20th - NANDO MICHELIN - WORLD JAZZ: Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Nando came to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He is currently recording and performing with his trio that features Esperanza Spalding on bass and vocals and Richie Barshay on drums and percussion, and with a quartet featuring Leala Cyr on vocals and trumpet, John Lockwood on bass, and Tiago Michelin on drums.
Feb. 21st - BRIAN THOMAS - JAZZ & FUNK TROMBONE: Boston based trombonist Thomas is one of the most sought after musicians in the country playing music ranging from jazz to funk. He has been playing trombone since the age of 10 in his hometown of Rochester, NY and leads his own jazz quartet, big band, and funk power house Akashic Record, each of which feature his original compositions.
Feb. 22nd - BRUCE BARTLETT - BURNING JAZZ-BLUES: Boston-based guitarist, composer and Berklee professor Bruce Bartlett has taught groove ensembles all over the world and his band, Bruce Bartlett Trio, has performed internationally. He has played rhythm guitar for several underground recordings, recorded live with Prince's drummer John Blackwell. He also composed most of the material, along with being a featured soloist, for Modern Drummer Festival 2000 at Montclair University in New Jersey, performed along side the legendary Chick Corea.
