Drew and JP / Naughty Octopus / The Interlopers

Event Date:
Friday, April 26, 2013 - 8:00pm
Drew of the Drew and JP Bouvet met at Berklee in 2009. They were founding members of rock band Helicopria and have toured internationally since the band's birth in 2010. In 2012, JP won the two biggest drum competitions in the world, the Guitar Center Drum-Off and Roland V-Drums Contest. Drew, with his homemade super-rig, is known worldwide as one of the most advanced sound-shaping innovators to wield a bass guitar. In early 2012, they started exploring the realms of live electronic music, including dance, dubstep, DnB, and mashups. Both members have amassed large, loyal internet followings, and their recent move to New York, the home of all things extreme, will prove to take Drew and JP's tastefully underground creation to the next level.
Berklee student group Naughty Octopus is a cosmic gumbo of funk, reggae, hip-hop, soul, punk, and indie jam. It has created a musical monster, resurrecting the energy of the Chili Peppers, infusing a funk foundation of Parliament, injecting a Molotov cocktail of raging Soulive elements, and slipping in the deep, sexy, suggestive, sensual grooves of D’Angelo and the Roots. The Naughty Octopus is dedicated to bringing a fresh take on music, providing the audience with a sonic, energetic, emotional journey unlike anything ever experienced.
Hailing from the rolling green hills of Berkshire County, Massachusetts, The Interlopers formed at Monument Mountain Regional High School. The band is composed of longtime friends and Berklee students Curtis Kelley, Nick Veinoglou, Ariel Shrum, Max Weiner, and Dylan Renner. What began as just a couple of friends playing community events, talent shows, and parties slowly morphed into a creative and expressive entity, a musical brotherhood worth sharing with the world.
