Marci Geller’s “Open Book” Tour
Marci Geller – piano, vocals
Marshal Rosenberg – percussion
Glen Roethel – guitar, vocals
While the music industry focuses on younger and more mainstream artists/acts, and with labels in a state of panic amid ever decreasing CD sales, Marci Geller is a seasoned indie artist who is remaining grounded in the music and is focused on sharing it with people — and not on “fame.” She has been pursuing her career as an independent artist since the mid-1990s and believes that life is even better, the musical message is even clearer, and the success is getting sweeter as she appeals to an audience that is intelligent and reflective about their lives and eager to live them.
Her new CD, Open Book, is a frothy mix of irony, humor and whimsical honesty with folk sensibilities. Geller called upon long-time friend and musical collaborator David Warner Cook to lay down acoustic guitar and co-produce with her and her husband, Gian DiMauro. Having shared the stage with luminaries James Maddock and Vance Gilbert, she invited them to add their talent to the evolving CD. Without hesitation, both expressed their excitement about supporting Geller and her new project.
“Open Book is an eclectic album of twelve originals that range from an opening track reminiscent of the best of Karen Carpenter, to the pop rocking Tom McCarthy” – Butch Kara, KZGM FM, Kaleidoscope
