The New Black Eagle Jazz Band
The New Black Eagle Jazz Band, known as the best New Orleans revivalist bands in the country, returns for its monthly 2nd Thursday gig for an evening of good dining and hot jazz.
Celebrating its 42nd year, the Black Eagles capture the spirit and energy of classical jazz - from rags and blues to familiar pop tunes and early swing - made famous by such jazz greats as Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. The Sherborn Inn, conveniently located west of Boston and easily accessible from Worcester, provides the ideal setting for dining, listening and dancing.
The seven piece New Black Eagle Jazz Band, a Grammy-nominated, Boston-based band formed in 1971, appears throughout New England and around the world. Concerts this year take them to Maine, Pennsylvania, Colorado and California. The band has performed with the Boston Pops, Baltimore Symphony and Scottish National Orchestras, and plays frequently for private parties.
