Part I: Johann Sebastian Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, Volume 1, Preludes and Fugues 1 to 12, BWV 846-857
Part II: Preludes and Fugues 13-24 will be performed in the spring of 2014.
ARTIST: Nigel Coxe, pianist, was awarded the Bach Prize adjudicated by the eminent English pianist and Bach exponent Dame Myra Hess, while he was a student at The Royal Academy of Music in London. Professor Coxe’s words about the concert, “It is my desire to give our audience an opportunity, which is not too common, to hear Bach’s masterpiece, the Well-Tempered Clavier, Volume 1, Preludes and Fugues. The work is the bedrock of all later keyboard music and has been crucial to my life and work.”
