The Quebe Sisters Band

Event Date:
Wednesday, August 28, 2013 - 8:00pm

The Quebe Sisters Band (pronounced KWAY-be) takes you on a time-warp trip back to the heyday of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, the McGuire Sisters, the Mills Brothers, and the Sons of the Pioneers. When Sophia, Hulda and Grace Quebe raise their fiddles and play, audiences marvel. When the girls sing their vintage-style three-part harmony, audiences are blown away.  Add the extraordinary rhythm guitar and swinging arrangements of Joey McKenzie and the tasty rock solid upright bass of Gavin Kelso, and the Quebe Sisters Band becomes a force of nature. Although less than a decade old, the QSB's refreshing blend of western swing, vintage country, bluegrass, hot jazz and swing standards, and Texas style fiddling has taken the Americana music scene by storm.

The award winning QSB has performed in Europe, Great Britain, and across the U.S.A., as well as multiple appearances on the Grand Ole Opry, the Kennedy Center, the Lincoln Center, and NPR's A Prairie Home Companion. "One thing is for sure, you don't see a group like the Quebe Sisters Band come along everyday," says WSM Grand Ole Opry announcer Eddie Stubbs. "Their music has moved me in a way that only a precious very few acts have done in the last 20 years and they receive my highest endorsement musically, professionally and personally."

Tickets: $25, members $23
