Todd Carey / Honored By August / Sarah Miles & Bracher Brown

Event Date:
Wednesday, December 5, 2012 - 8:00pm

The Red Room

Chicago-born guitar-singling songwriter Todd Carey hit the Top 40 iTunes charts with his 2010 EP release, After The Morning After. Produced by Mikal Blue (Colbie Callait, Five for Fighting), the new EP, After The Morning After “kind of runs the course of a relationship,” Carey describes. “My last record was about the birth and the bright-eyed newness of a relationship, but this group of songs is more diverse.” Carey knows the touring routine well, as he has crisscrossed the country, playing more than 250 shows, selling out hometown shows in Chicago and Wisconsin, and becoming a fixture on the college circuit.

In the band’s young career, Honored By August has already played arena stages, had its music broadcasted to millions, and won the grand prize in Billboard’s World Song Contest. “Now widely considered one of the most promising new talents on the East Coast,” (Washington Post) Honored By August makes music characterized by “distinctive, inviting vocals and anthemic, reverb-drenched guitars” ( and built on “award-winning songwriting, strong vocals, catchy melodies, and dynamic live performances” (OnTap Magazine).

Pop singer-songwriter Sarah Miles is a young woman with a killer voice, catchy pop melodies, some fabulous high heels, and a hint of twang. Enamored with the sounds of Nashville and of Brooklyn, Miles’ songs are as youthful and lighthearted as her spirit, though her lyrics sometimes show a weightier, pensive side. She has received awards and attracted attention everywhere her voice has carried her, but one expects as much from any talented, budding artist.

Born and raised in the city of Orlando, Florida, Bracher Brown is a high school student by day and musician by night. This year, he’s recording his first full-length album, due out in early 2013. The record is being produced by fellow Rock Ridge Music label-mate Todd Carey. Brown will also be joining Carey on the road with Bushwalla for a short tour of the Northeast, and will also be opening for Tony Lucca.
