Tunefoolery’s Beatles Concert
Tunefoolery is a Boston non-profit organization for musicians in mental health recovery. The group is a loving community of 50 musicians, who play a variety of music in ensembles and as solo acts, and who perform for underserved populations in New England and beyond. Their mission is to provide hope, healing, and purpose to their musicians and to their audiences.
In contrast to traditional psychiatric treatment, Tunefoolery focus on abilities instead of disabilities. The group also reaches out to schools and other organizations, educating students about the possibilities of people with psychiatric conditions as a way to fight stigma.
Tunefoolery receives generous support from Kalliopeia Foundation, the TJX Foundation, the Howell Family Charitable Foundation, Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, Cambridge Community Foundation, NAMI GB CAN, Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership (MBHP), and the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation. This project is also supported in part by Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
