Wide Open Spaces
Wide Open Spaces lives up to their name by playing "bluegrass without borders." Combining the traditional sounds of fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar and bass with modern song-writing, jazzy - rock edged arrangements and uber-tight 3 part harmonies, they take audiences on a musical joy ride that have some people saying "I can't believe that's bluegrass!" Anything can happen - and usually does.
The 'Spaces' are Comprised of charter members of the award winning (Phoenix - Best Acoustic Act, Winterhawk Bluegrass Festival Band Competition) former bad boys of newgrass, Acoustic Planet; bluegrass wunderkinds, the Oakhurst Boys; along with Mud Rocheleau-Demers of the famed acoustic duo, Chuck and Mud.
The 'Spaces' have been getting rave reviews from their recent performances at several nationally known venues, including the Ossipee Music Festival and the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival. Whether you prefer beautiful Celtic fiddle reels, ripping Sam Bush mandolin solos, banjos from the far side of a distant galaxy, mixed with Beatle-esque or Alison Krauss harmonies - or original songs reminiscent of greats like Jimmy Buffet, Dave Brubeck to Django - come join the "Spaces" for an evening of good-humored alchemy.
