Join host Tom Shaker as he celebrates the life and music of a soul/funk icon. It all starts at 7pm!

Soul Serenade cranks up a high-energy "Soul Tailgate" for the Patriots' Monday Night Football kickoff. At 9:00 the Soul Spotlight falls on The Sweet Inspirations and their superb 1967 album of the same name. This great backup vocal group steps out with some beautiful music of their own; it's now hard to find but we've got it for you. Tom Lucci comes off the bench to sub for Tom Shaker.

Singer Minnie Riperton was well on her way to becoming a pop and soul legend when she died of breast cancer in 1979, at age 31. Riperton was blessed with an astounding five-and-a-half-octave vocal range, and achieved her greatest commercial success with the hit ballad, "Lovin' You."
