Christine Lavin and Uncle Bonsai Just One Angel

Event Date:
Friday, December 6, 2013 - 8:00pm

"Christine Lavin is wildly entertaining."

-The New Yorker

"Uncle Bonsai's exquisite musical detail and subtle needling wit attain a level of craft not often seen in pop"
-The New York Times

Celebrate the holidays at one of the funniest and most musically satisfying concerts you'll ever experience. Singer-Songwriter Christine Lavin and the Seattle trio Uncle Bonsai share an equally angelic and wicked sense of reality when it comes to the holidays, particularly on behalf of those among us skating on thin ice for most of the season! Together in concert, they deliver some of the most clever and unflinching lyrics in folk-pop music. So expect fans' favorites, new holiday songs, and perhaps a surprise guest or two in a concert that coincides with the release of their new recording, Just One Angel, v.2. It's a sublime and sublimely humorous compilation of original holiday songs by Lavin, Bonsai and fellow singer-songwriters across the country.

Al Dean

Al grew up listening to the music of the 40’s on his father’s EH Scott radio and 78 records. Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman were family favorites. This is first experience in the broadcasting field and allows him to dig into his closet of old vinyls and share them with his audience on the Sunday afternoon edition of the Jazz Matinee.
