Bluegrass Mass with Southern Rail

A performance of "The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass" by Carol Barnett.

This is an amazing work that beautifully combines traditional choral writing and bluegrass music.

Jim, Rich and Sharon will be performing this along with special guests on fiddle and mandolin.

Accompanied by the First Parish choir.

The festive and heartwarming music of Michael Bresler – also known as Fishel Bresler – will be available for audiences ages 5 to 100 when the performer, best known for his beautiful Jewish music of the klezmer and hassidic music ensemble, performs in Kent Recital Hall in the Conlon Fine Arts Building, 367 North Street.

This April 6th, Brooklyn born pianist-composer and bandleader Randy Weston celebrates his 87th birthday. Described by Piano Jazz luminary Marian McPartland as "one of the world's great visionary pianists and composers", Weston has been an influential voice not only in jazz but also the U.S. civil rights movement and raising awareness to the African diaspora. World renown for his storytelling, Weston released his Autobiography entitled African Rhythms in 2010.
