The Brew - East Coast Homecoming Tour!

92.5 The River Presents The Brew. It's a classic story: band springs from little town, a tale of long odds and green dreams that, given talent, time and a hard-earned break or two, begin to amount to something. With a three album set collectively known as Triptych from their own Riverwood Records label, buzz about The Brew has been building around their single "When Darkness Comes", a song winning its way into the hearts and onto the playlists of radio programmers across America.

Michael S. Gazzaniga & Janet Reitman

Sunday, April 15, 2012 - 9:00pm

All of us feel like we have a unified consciousness, a “self” that acts with a purpose that resides inside the head of this biological machine of our body. It is that little person inside our heads that makes us who we are. But recent startling findings in the neurosciences tell a very different story. Our brains function as a collection of decentralized complex systems and disunited processes that are integrated much like the programs on our PC. So how come we feel so single minded? Our very special guest tonight is DR. MICHAEL S.

Juan Carlos Formell and Johnny's Dream Club from the Monterey Jazz Festival

Friday, April 13, 2012 - 6:00pm

The Cuban guitarist has been based in the U.S. for nearly two decades. He still sings in Spanish almost exclusively, and his imagination is vivid as he conjures Johnny's Dream Club as a venue -- perhaps a romantic, divey haunt -- in a long-lost New Orleans. With some of New York's top Latin jazz musicians to fulfill his vision, Formell sits at the center, singing and strumming.
