Bowery Boston Presents Marissa Nadler with Faces on Film

Spin called Marissa Nadler's 2011 album "one of the year's most disarming records...a cyclical finger picked beauty that, once you lean into it some, never lets you go," while Pitchfork gave it an "Albums of the Year: Honorable Mention." NPR First Listen called her music "dreamy, melancholy, and utterly captivating." Currently, she is touring in support of her upcoming companion record, aptly called "The Sister" out May 29 on her own label, Box Of Cedar Records.

David Tanklefsky, Elijah Ocean and Poor Old Shine

David Tanklefsky is a musician, journalist, filmmaker, campaign manager, and minor league baseball play-by-play broadcaster, and the lead singer/songwriter of Boston-based folk/rock/jazz band Grimis. In 2010, he traveled to Kenya with Grimis and made a record with AIDS orphans, raising more than $10,000 for the students.

Bookbinding Workshop – Noble Stab Binding

Conference Room

The class is taught by Jenny Hughes. “These are my favorite basic book binding structures, very elegant and beautiful when put together with a few different options for covers, sewing patterns, sizes and complexity.” says Hughes.

Each workshop covers a different technique and students will learn how to make each book, from purchasing the right materials all the way to completion.
