ROCK OFF MAIN STREET

TCAN's successful Rock Off Main teen music program is an all-ages show that provides a venue for bands in this region to take their eclectic mix of music out of their basements and put it on stage where it belongs, performing for their peers. Bands scheduled to perform include: Bag O'Nails; Awesome Express; Fins; Odd One Out.

BEETHOVEN'S WIG (Family)

In this “variety-style” show, Richard Perlmutter uses goofball comedy, hilarious lyrics and stories, and piano, mandolin, guitar, and classical musical trivia to turn on kids and parents to the joys and charming oddities of the classical greats. Beethoven’s Wig’s five CD’s have earned four Parents’ Choice Awards and four Grammy nominations. Special appearance by Walnut Hill School vocalists. www.beethovenswig.com

RODNEY CROWELL (Country)

A Grammy-winning songwriter and producer, Crowell’s poetry and earthy tautness chronicle folks in the cracks. His albums established a benchmark of what was possible in the ground between Hank Williams, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash and Elvis. Diamonds & Dirt was country's first album to yield five #1's. CALIFORNIA GUITAR TRIO and MONTREAL GUITAR TRIO

This six-by-6-string 'phenomensemble' of CGT+MG3 features virtuoso guitarists from four countries--Japan, Canada, Belgium, and US. Together, CGT+MG3 explore intricate original compositions as well as new arrangements of progressive rock, world, jazz, surf and classical music. CGT’s known for their stunning artistry and sly humor; MG3 is described by the CBC as “the hottest guitar ensemble in Canada.”

TCAN FOLK/ACOUSTIC OPEN MIC

The Folk/Acoustic Open Mic night at TCAN has been a tradition since the opening of The Center years ago. And we could try to describe this event by mentioning all the significant songwriters and talented musicians who have played and sung and captured a special moment in time.

But the TCAN Folk/Acoustic Open Mic night isn't about individuals so much as it is about a community. Everyone is welcome to perform – the event starts at 8pm but sign-up starts at 7:30pm. Hosted alternate weeks by Mark Stepakoff.
