“Poets in the Afternoon”

The Holden Senior Center celebrates National Poetry Month

Three local poets share their work, plus other favorites. Refreshments served. Free and open to all. You don’t have to be a senior citizen to come and enjoy poets Jennifer L. Freed, Carle A. Johnson, and James B. Nicola.

Eric Taylor at Pomfet Audubon Center

People have been talking about Eric Taylor and his songs since the early 1970s, when he was an integral part of a Houston songwriting scene that included Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, and Guy Clark. Taylor is one of the most influential songwriters to ever come out of Texas.

Kala Farnham

Though he was born missing his left forearm, he taught himself to play the guitar by constructing a selfmade cast out of Gorilla Tape that secures a guitar pick to his arm.
