The Two-Tones

James Gaudette has been a staple in the New England music scene for over 20 years. He is an accomplished guitarist,multi-instrumentalist and music instructor. He has not only been formally trained but has been taught the styles first-hand from many of the original music legends of the genres he specializes in. Leah is a vintage songstress hailing from South Carolina whose sultry voice has been known to mesmerize audiences up and down the East Coast. She also holds down rhythm with acoustic guitar and percussion.

Sunday Brunch with Jazz Continuum

Join Alice Lee (piano), Brett Baker (guitar), Mickey Carter (percussion) and Richard Shaw (bass) for Jazz Brunch: whether you intend to eat, talk, sip, read or just relax, Jazz Continuum will draw from the Great American Songbook, the mainstream jazz of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, or the soft bossa novas of Jobim to create to relaxing but invigorating way to enjoy a full brunch or just coffee. Laurel Martin

Traditional Irish fiddle player Laurel Martin performs in a flowing, sweet style that is reminiscent of the regional music of County Clare and East Galway. Laurel learned her music from Master fiddler Seamus Connolly, with whom she studied from 1990-1993 under a Traditional Arts Apprenticeship grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Her deep understanding and love of the old regional fiddle styles of Ireland make her unique as a performer and a teacher of traditional Irish music. This evening, Laurel will be accompanied by John Carew on guitar.

Jazz voclaist Helene J Gove & Guitarist Michael Chasse

Began singing at the at the age of 9. Helene received her bachelor of arts degree in music from the University of Massachusetts and went onto New York to continue her vocal training. Helene performs at venues such as The Acton Jazz Cafe, The Main Street Cafe in Concord and the Johnny Ray's on Maynard!

Sunday Brunch with Pianist Joe Whalen

Joe will play popular Love Songs and songs from shows, almost of which have a love theme. Joe's been playing for a while. Some previous solo engagements include Cosmo Club in DC, Kenwoord and Bethesda country clubs, Brook Manor in N. Attleboro, Chicken Pete's, Fr. Bob's gourmet dinners, Boyntonian pianist, Mobile Jazz Festival, Ritz Carlton (DC) employee banquet, Annapolis Yacht Club, weddings, private parties.

Trude Witham Group

The Trude Witham Group plays a variety of jazz standards, contemporary pieces and originals.  Trude has performed extensively as a saxophonist in several jazz combos, and her group has played at restaurants, clubs and local functions throughout the area.  Joining her at the Java Room will be Ted Osborne on guitar, Justin Maynard on bass,  Tom Phelan on vibraphone and Jack Morash on drums.

Morgan Scott Trio

Appearing regularly at The Java Room, the trio consists of Morgan Scott on piano, Ervin Dhimo on bass and Ed Conley on drums, percussion. “We create adventurous music of the moment...”spontaneous composition” at times and traditional jazz standards at others. Sometimes a quick burst of an idea comes across one of our minds’ ear, and if we are free of ourselves we let that idea emerge. The rest of the group will react to the idea, or the idea presented exists as a counterpoint to whatever is already going on in the music.

He holds a PhD in astrophysics and is the author of several books.
