Featuring soprano Claire Raphaelson, contralto Elizabeth Anker, keyboardist Emma Gavenda, baritone James Dargan, and tenor Peter Terry, with audience participation. Most of the familiar arias and the one duet from Handel’s MESSIAH will be performed based on a version published in 1785, for harpsichord or fortepiano. Selected choruses will be sung, with audience participation, and choral scores will be provided. During the composer’s lifetime, all performances of MESSIAH were fund-raisers for worthy charitable causes.
