Tenor saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi is an internationally recognized jazz performer, composer, author and educator. His music is renowned for its innovation, mastery, and integrity. Relentless drive, inner fire, total command, awesome technique, elastic lyricism, rich resonance, world-class, a musical visionary, are among the rave reviews credited to his sound.

Kevin Harris Project

When the unmistakable musical influences of Thelonious Monk, Danilo Perez, and Charlie Parker intersect with J.S. Bach, Scott Joplin, and the folkloric rhythms of Cuba, could one possibly conceptualize the celebration that occurs at that intersection? Boston-based jazz pianist Kevin Harris plays a distinctive combination of traditional and contemporary music that seeks to explore such a crossroads.

This spring OperaHub is bringing back this audience-participation-determination romp through some of the most beautiful and some of the silliest selections from the operatic repertoire. Mid-Week Session: The Syrinx Effect

The Syrinx Effect is Kate Olson and Naomi Siegel - a duo that plays contemporary, improvised chamber music with electronics. Naomi plays trombone with guitar pedals and Kate plays soprano saxophone with laptop and other toys. The duo got their start curating the Racer Sessions in Seattle, and have gone on to perform prolifically in the Seattle area, collaborating with many of the mainstays of the Northwest jazz and improvised music scenes.

Mid-Week Session: Eric Hofbauer Quintet: Prehistoric Jazz; The Rite & 100 Years of Revolution

On May 29th, 100 years to the day of the premiere of Stravinsky’s ‘Rite of Spring’, the Eric Hofbauer Quintet will perform a 21st century rendering of the work entitled ‘Prehistoric Jazz: The Rite & 100 Years of Revolution’.

Miss Massachusetts 2013

A Preliminary to the Miss America Organization, the largest scholarship foundation in the world for women. Friday,  June 28 at 7pm is the preliminary pageant. All contestants will compete in Talent, Evening wear, onstage questions and swimsuit.

Saturday, June 29 is the final night of competition. The top ten contestants will compete in Talent, Evening wear, Swimsuit. The evening culminates with the crowning of the New Miss Massachusetts, who will compete for the title of Miss America.
