Established by Aaron Richmond in 1938, the Series has evolved into New England's major presenting organization with over 100 performance and outreach activities annually.
Through Celebration of Smiles on April 21, members of the Professional Photographers of America had an opportunity to raise their business profile and heal a child through the art of photography. They did so by offering their clients and prospects the gift of a mini-session and 5x7 image in exchange for a $24 donation to benefit of Operation Smile, which is a charitable non-profit that works to transform the lives of children who suffer from cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. For each $240 raised by PPA members, a child in need will receive the gift of life-changing surgery.
In an encore episode, Steve D'Agostino interviews Charlotte Bowles of CLB Photography and Laurie McDonagh of Laurie McDonagh Photography, who helped to lead the effort by local PPA members to raise awareness of the work of Operation Smile.
