Peter Cushing starred in some of the most iconic horror and adventure films of the last half of the 20th Century. He has played Dr. Frankenstein a number of times in Hammer films, as well as van Helsing is another series of films. He had starring roles in The Mummy (1959), She (1964) and was a villain in The Avengers TV series. He has played Dr. Who, Sherlock Holmes as was the deliciously evil Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars. But despite his stunning list of film, television and stage credits, he is not as well known here in the States.
