Gerry Mulligan and John Lewis

Date:
Monday, November 4, 2013 - 6:00pm

Post-war America saw the hard edge of bebop evolve into Cool Jazz. The music flowed, bewitched and enchanted baritone sax man Gerry Mulligan and pianist John Lewis. They became twin pioneers of that sophisticated style. Now pianist Jonathan Batiste and baritone master Joe Temperly, with the Jazz at Lincoln Center orchestra transport us to the 1950's.  The set includes Django, Delawny's Dilemma, and Animal Dance.  Wendell Pierce hosts.
