The Netherlands has a rich history of avante guard jazz. Musicians like Han Bennink and Misha Mengelberg, and groups like the Notenkrakers and ICP have combined American jazz influences with classical music and concepts from John Cage and the Fluxus Movement to produce a unique and challenging Dutch jazz.
