Established by Aaron Richmond in 1938, the Series has evolved into New England's major presenting organization with over 100 performance and outreach activities annually.
Born into a rich legacy of musicianship, with an ear for music and interest that began developing by the age of four, Joey DeFrancesco is best-known for his organ playing. Catch Colors of Jazz when DeFrancesco talks with host Bonnie Johnson about his long career and latest CD One for Rudy, an album dedicated to the "legendary" recording engineer Rudy van Gelder. With more than thirty studio albums and numerous recordings that include mentors Jimmy Smith, Miles Davis and others; the multi-instrumentalist remains in the fore-front of jazz. Saxophonist David Sanborn joins Joey DeFrancesco in Trio for two nights ~ Live at Scullers Jazz Club in Boston on January 24 & 25, 2014. Tune in at 4pm.
