Arts, sciences and humanities build healthier, more livable, vital communities. They are essential to a strong education system. They contribute enormously to our economy.
On the Tuesday after Labor Day, the Bluegrass Junction will pay tribute in song to the working men and women who make America strong. We will have songs about truck drivers, farmers, mill workers and others. Of course there will be plenty of songs about coal miners. There are so many Bluegrass songs about the plight of this exploited lot including recent collections and Kathy Matea’s wonderful themed album, “Coal”. They symbolize all workers in our struggle to provide for ourselves and our families.
So, on September 6th at 7:00 pm, workers unite and lift your voices along with the bluegrass musicians who will spotlight labor and the day set aside to honor us. Tune in to the Bluegrass Junction and lose those “Working Man’s Blues”.
