Established by Aaron Richmond in 1938, the Series has evolved into New England's major presenting organization with over 100 performance and outreach activities annually.
In an all-new episode of The Business Beat, Steve Jones-D'Agostino, chief pilot of Best Rate of Climb, interviews Lisa Piehler (shown, center), executive director, and Elizabeth Wambui (shown, right), major-gifts associate, for the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts and Diane Giampa (shown, left), vice president of human resources and marketing for Bay State Savings Bank, one of the sponsors of the local Red Cross chapter's 2014 Breakfast of Champions.
The American Red Cross of Central Mass. is calling for nominations for the 2014 Breakfast of Champions. Each year, the Breakfast of Champions honors local people who have done remarkable things in the community. This annual signature event began as a way to honor the heroes of September 11, 2001. In the years since, it has grown into a celebration of the courage, kindness and unselfish character displayed by incredible people across Central Mass.
Past honorees include people who have had an extraordinary impact on the community or fellow man by saving a life or through community service. Members of the community are invited to nominate a local hero for consideration. Honorees will be selected by a committee of individuals from the local community, including former award recipients.
Submissions from cities and towns across Central Mass. are welcome. Nomination forms and criteria are available at www.redcross.org/centralmass. Nominations must be submitted online or postmarked no later than January 31, 2014.
The 2014 Breakfast of Champions will take place Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at Cyprian Keyes Golf Glub in Boylston. For more information about nominations, tickets and sponsorship opportunities, please contact Elizabeth Wambui at 508-595-3942, firstname.lastname@example.org.
