The Public Eye: Thomas Allen

Program:
Date:
Wednesday, November 3, 2010 - 2:09pm

In the spring of 1777, a shoemaker followed a group of soldiers passing through Virginia. He shouted out, "Hurrah for the King!" The soldiers then bound him and see-sawed him back and forth in a river till he nearly drowned. Later he was tarred & feathered and run out of town under threat of death. This unnamed shoemaker was an American, but so were his torturers. Join Al Vuona as he talks with author and historian Thomas Allen about his new book, Tories. Airs Sunday, November 7th at 10:30 pm!
